- Trends Research for the Telco Market
Trends Research for the Telco Market Commissioned by the government to be presented in next year´s MWC in Barcelona we started in may a surprising journey into the industry of contemporary communication. Looking at the evolution of the telecommunications market led us to an amazing project full of talented people in many companies around the world, telling us about their journeys, struggle and resources to deliver everyday relevant products and services to millions of telco users. 110 executives from 15 countries were involved in the first part. With them we understood where the industry is lading and wich challenges may come in the future for technologies, contents and users. To complement the process we also looked for the opinion of consumers in the USA and UK, very different types of consumers told us about their needs, expectations, complains and hundreds of anecdotes while calling, texting, watching, or enjoying music. Many made emphasis on their attachments and addictions, their prefered services and technical and brands. Our relationship to our phone is an incredible factor for urban and modern life. Between experts, consumers and a lot of data collection from trend sources, statitstic, private and public reports and correspondents we got stunning insights about what will lead the market in the next 5 years. Stay tuned for more info and some insights in our website.
- Trendslab INterDEPENDENCE
Trendslab INterDEPENDENCE According to Webster’s dictionary interdependence is the state of being dependent upon one another: mutual dependence interdependence of the two nations’ economies. It quotes: ” … a form of symbiosis, of close mutual interdependence of two species of organisms. “—Marston Bates “… the deep psychological interdependence between ourselves and those we love.” —Judith A. Savage Contemporary reality is based on complexity and speed. These relationships create permanent and temporary interdependencies among people, movements, trends and most political, cultural and economic forces. We are consciously experiencing The Butterfly Effect. Plurality and diversity affect the notion of truth and the distribution of information and news, creating what the know today as Fake News or alternative truths, based on the plural perception and interpretation of facts and reality. Never before subjectivity has been as strong as today, making complexity even more confusing. No official version exists anymore. The focus of this year´s lab is around Interdependencies and how trends are a mixture of political, economic and cultural factors that as a whole determine a very intricate set of relations and dependencies between businesses and many other aspects of modern life. This Lab will provide you the tools for analysing trends and planning them in future scenarios. It also supports the development of innovative entrepreneurial projects from students at the masters program in Advanced Design Management Strategy and Entrepreneurship from Elisava.. For the first time the more established Trends Research University programs come together (Elisava 2008, and University of Lisbon) to exchange and share visions and methodologies around trends research and application. During this 5 days lab, you will develop a trend-analysis lab carried out in order to identify and apply trends in three main sectors: Social trends, industry trends, and product trends. - The 2010 Summer Cover of Fuel Magazine is Damaged
The 2010 Summer Cover of Fuel Magazine is Damaged DAMAGED by Richard Brooks, is the body of work we have chosen this summer to be featured as the cover of FUEL. His images seemed clean, direct and had this kind of tragic beauty that caught our eye. Richard says: ¨I used dolls to represent victims of people trafficking. The dolls are resin based and, like the people they represent, fragile. The full series starts with a set of black and white portraits that speak of the ideali…sed image of the person who is then damaged by being trafficked.I chose a map as a device to address the issue of people trafficking, influenced by a couple of Guardian articles – a 2008 article included the key phrase “down your street” and a 2009 article included “across small towns and large cities”. The repetition of the map and the smaller images is indicative of the recurring nature of the problem of human trafficking. I was shocked to discover that there are currently more people enslaved by people trafficking than at the height of the transatlantic slave trade. The colour portraits, represent the damaged individuals. The prints are deliberately in glossy, reflective laminate. This was chosen so that the work interacts with the viewer, with the viewer glimpsing something of their own reflection. This added another layer to the work that speaks of our shared culpability in the suffering caused by people trafficking. Other contributors participating in the summer issue of FUEL are: Ingri Haraldsen, Claudio Parentela, Alvaro Sendra, Gracie Weinrib, Lavv Photography, Kara Seaman, Whathetreesee, Volathevist, John Broadley, What Surreally Matters, Studio Zlamal and Levi Miller.
#designthinking #FKOMBarcelona #accountplanning #HassoPlattner #fkom #emea #possible #sap

- Update your Mindset to Update your Business
Update your Mindset to Update your Business Most of the time we tend to look for a secure way to do things, especially in Business. But after some years of pushing marketing and competition, we realize that more and more, the success of many companies is not only based on the product or service they offer, but in the way in which they execute their processes, maintain their relationships with their users and involve themselves in the transformation of the society that surrounds them. Commercial Wars, Digital Markets, Relocalization of Production and the shift in values and consumption habits make companies rethink not only their processes and strategies but the way we perceive business and how it is done now and in the near future. Our sometimes fixed mindset focused on productivity or profit sometimes tricks us when we find competitors or new startups suddenly miles ahead from us. Keeping our Business Mindset in shape is as important as keeping sales flowing or revenue being generated. The time we normally allocate to feed our business mindset is usually scarce, we are too busy to “study” or look for reliable sources in a sea of disinformation and fake news, there is always the time-consuming option of summits and crowded congresses that are wide and general perfect for networking and reconnect but weak in content and real substance, useful but not enough. That is why Business Mindsets has been created, to feed your brain with the relevant information you need without the hassle of networking, crowds or commercial saturation around it.
